Lead Host for Kitchen and Food Prep.

Hours 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM

• Begins meal preparation before other volunteers arrive
• Prepares meals based on an identified menu
• Oversees food preparation volunteers, in a loving manner.
• Food handlers certificate required.
• Requires previous experience with SOS food preparation and serving
• Oversees all aspects of food preparation, food serving and kitchen cleanup.

Food Preparation and serving volunteer
Hours 5:00 PM - 7:45 PM
Duties:

• Works with Lead Host for Food Prep and Food Serving
• Prepares meals based on an identified menu.
• Serves meal to guests
• Cleanup kitchen and food serving area
• Food handlers certificate required.
• Available through SOS web site (sos-shelter.org)

Lead Host for Evening Shift

Hours 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Duties:

• Requires previous experience with SOS food preparation and serving
• Interface with guests in a positive and supportive manner
• Oversee Evening Shift volunteers
• Assist with Guest Intake when required
• Work with Shelter directors to insure safety for guests and volunteers
• Coordinate volunteers for the following tasks:
• Showers
• Room assignments
• Issue cots and bedding
• Clothes Closet
• Lead Host is responsible for all building and room keys.
• Coordinate with Lead Host for Overnight Volunteers at end of shift.

Evening Shift Volunteers

Hours: 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Tasks:

• Interface with guests in a positive and supportive manner
• Assist with Food Serving and Kitchen Cleanup as required
• Periodically patrol grounds and smoking area, in two person teams, to insure adherence to smoking and drinking regulations.
• Schedule & Monitor Showers
• Room assignments
• Issue cots and bedding
• Manage Clothes Closet

Lead Host for Overnight Shift

Hours: 9:30 PM - 8:45 AM
Duties:

• Interface with guests in a positive and supportive manner
• Work with Shelter directors to insure safety for guests and volunteers
• Co-ordinate Volunteers for the following tasks:
• Lights out @ 10:00 PM
• Doors and Building Secured
• Two hour shifts for patrolling sleeping quarters and bathrooms
• Laundry - Wash & dry kitchen & bath towels
• Prepare and serve morning meal
• Supervise Building cleanup
• Ensure all guests leave building by 8:30 AM Monday-Friday, and by 7:30 AM Saturday-Sunday
• Ensures all items used for the shelter are put away and Sonrise Church is returned to a clean condition. 
• Lead Host is responsible for all building and room keys.

Overnight Shift Volunteers:
Hours: 9:30 PM - 8:45 AM
Duties:

• Interface with guests in a positive and supportive manner
• Lights out @ 10:00 PM
• Doors and Building Secured
• All night patrols of sleeping areas and bathrooms
• Laundry - Wash & dry kitchen & bath towels
• Prepare and serve morning meal
• Supervise Building cleanup
• Ensure all guests leave building by 8:30 AM Monday-Friday, and by 7:30 AM Saturday-Sunday

There are no limits on volunteers. For example, if only one slot remains and you want to volunteer with your spouse, just fill the remaining slot. Your spouse can still accompany you.
